There was another massive turnout for this NorCal event. Over 600 races lined up for one of the most technical races we’ve seen in awhile. This was the 2nd race for the Bay Area Super Prestige Series, held at Coyote Point in San Francisco. The course was very challenging and extremely technical with minimal places to pass considering the massive fields. Yikes!  Trina just rocked it with a podium in the Elite Women’s race. And we also saw a bit of teamwork as Edwin eased up to give Logan a better place for the overall series GC at the line. Thanks Edwin!

Here are the results for our racers in their respective races:

Trina: 5th
Tim: 12th
Logan: 8th
Edwin 9th
  • Trina: 5th
  • Tim: 12th
  • Logan: 8th
  • Edwin 9th

Arrived at the venue both Saturday and Sunday morning with plenty of time to pre-ride the course and the sun was shining, although cooler than prior mornings. Edwin was up first at 10:30am and Trina at 2:00pm. The course was not varied much from Saturday to Sunday. Both courses were very technical with twisty, sharp turns, steep ups and downs, pavement, steps, and a tacky surface, ideal conditions for the technical yet strong rider! Edwin’s starting position Saturday and Sunday was perfect, front row middle.
With 70+ riders starting each day, positioning was crucial. Edwin rode a strong race both days and finish 9th and 11th respectively. Trina was called to the front row in Saturday’s race, lined up next Katerina Nash, Mo Bruno, Meredith Miller, Rebecca Wellons, Andrea Smith and Amy Dombroski, a bit daunting! Once the whistle blew 35 women made a mad dash for the hole shot and Trina remained with the top 15 for two + laps. Trina had a good solid
race and placed 18th.
Although Sunday’s race started with a smaller field than Saturdays, the field was stacked with more talent. Positioned in the second row on Sunday made it difficult to get the hole shot. Trina had another good race, raced with the top 15 for 3+ laps and battled for 19th place. All together a fantastic venue for cyclocross. To accompany the cyclocross racing at Roger Williams Park, interbike set up both days in the middle of the course with plenty of

Gloucester Day 2

DAY2
Gloucester Day 2 – Race report by Trina and Edwin

The rain ended Saturday nite, but it was supersaturated and foggy Sunday morning. The course was still very slick early. The promoters change the course over nite, runs in the opposite direction. the course was long, at 3.5 km and twisty. It did not rain Sunday so the course continued to dry throughout the day.

If you are a cross racer and you can pull it off you should do Gloucester at least once, before you retire. The locals refer to it as the worlds of new england. A spectacular venue, on the ocean, a real cross course (not a bmx/mountainbike/oldgarbagedump/cali-style “cyclocross”), nice grass, beer tent with 10 local microbrews, freindly locals, nice promoter, prize money….

There was massive turnout for this epic Northern California event. This was the 1st race for the Bay Area Super Prestige Series, held at McLaren Park in San Francisco. The course was very technical, with a massive run-up, super rough downhill sections and minimal places to pass considering the large fields. This one leaves you feeling it the next day. Ouch. BTW – Big congratulations to Don Myrah for what he achieved this weekend.

Here are the results for our racers in their respective races:

  • Tim: 10th

GLOSTAGreat Brewer’s Gran Prix of Gloucester – Race report by Trina and Edwin

Drove to Gloucester Wednesday, from Burlington Vermont. Slotted into a nice rental house 300 meters from the race venue, nice bike wash and storage. Went for an easy spin north along cape ann Thursday, sunny and clear. Quite a high rent district with big mansions on the ocean, big lots and private beaches. Like Montecito but right on the Atlantic.
